The Boston Celtics skipped on a lot of deals at the trade deadline and now it’s time to fortify the 15-man roster, DJ White is the second free agent signing in recent weeks.
Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge targeted the 6-foot-9 power forward this past Friday, but a deal could not be completed because China was waiting for a letter of release from the Shanghai Dongfan Sharks.
The deal is now complete and will be official within the next 24 hours, according to to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports.
After forward D.J. White’s letter of clearance finally arrived from China, he’ll sign with Celtics in next 24 hours, sources tell Y! Sports.

White, who averaged 21.6 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in 32 games, will look to play on Friday against the Golden State Warriors. The power forward could receive a decent amount of time due to the lack of depth in the front court.
There is no word whether will Ainge will resign Williams to another 10-day contract so stay tuned.
